As technology advances, so must our marketing techniques.
Especially when you begin selling online in a crowded space of professional marketers, you need all the intel and ammo you can get.
To have a clear understanding of what works and why; I will help you form new strategies.
Whether you are selling a product, a house, a service, an idea, selling on or offline, this concept applies!
Stop for a moment and think about the last ad or email campaign that drew you in and made you want to purchase.
Regardless if it was on the internet, email, or the newspaper.
Think about the words that they used in the ad; what was it about the image that got your attention? Was it the graphics, or the captions that made you stop an take notice?
Consider these points the next time you check your email or while reading a magazine or newspaper.
And lastly, think about the ad or email that made you hit the delete key.
I see too many people, selling online that are pushing and pushing products or information! I see this on LinkedIn, daily.
Unfortunately, I receive a lot of this on LinkedIn. Some people hit my inbox with a full page of information about their company or product before they even take the time to introduce themselves.
Push marketing is when it's all about the seller. Their only interest is promoting and selling their stuff. They do not provide real value; they only want you to promote them and purchase from them.
What a turn-off! This type of push marketing is the quickest way to be deleted and blocked forever!
It’s the same concept when you walk into a department store, and the salesperson follows you, and pressures you to buy. You will most likely find your way to the door.
Conversely, when someone kindly and politely greets you, asks how you are, then gives you space to browse, and now and they may circle back to provide you with helpful info or service. Things are quite different.
The seller took the time to establish good rapport and gave you ample time to look around and get comfortable; which is much more attractive to a buyer. Now you are more likely to stay longer and purchase from this person.
We must do the same when selling online. We give our potential clients a chance to like, know, and trust us.
I want to share two brilliant books with you by Gary Vaynerchuk.
If you don’t already know Gary Vee; he is an entrepreneur, investor, author, public speaker, and internet personality, a huge Jets fan, the CEO of VaynerMedia, a brand consulting agency, and the star of Wine Library TV.
Gary’s first major achievement began while he was in college, Gary took his Russian immigrants family liquor store from $4M to $45M in 5 short years, now known as "Wine Library TV."
In Gary’s book "Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook," Gary talks about giving your clients lots of value before asking for the sale.
It seems so simple and logical, yet very few people practice this.
“Push” marketing is the best way to land in someone’s spam filter.
Whereas “pull marketing,” also known as “attraction marketing” provides beneficial content for your potential client.
I highly recommend taking a look at Gary Vaynerchuck’s book. It is also available on Kindle, as well.

And this, my friend, is why some people are crushing it while selling online!
Gary also gives great advice on how to stand out from the crowd on the various social platforms and mobile devices.
He has quite a track record for "selling online."
Stay tuned, my friend; you will see a new topic here every week.
If there is a topic in the digital marketing arena that you would like to know more about, please don't hesitate to ask.
I appreciate you!
